How do organizers close submissions?
Paige Watson
Updated on 10 March 2026Conference organizers may need to close submissions once the submission deadline has passed or when the maximum number of submissions has been reached. Closing submissions prevents authors from submitting additional papers while allowing organizers to continue the review process.
In PeerSubmit, submissions can be closed automatically when the submission end date is reached or manually by adjusting the submission limit.
Step 1: Log in to Your PeerSubmit Account
Start by logging in to your PeerSubmit organizer account.
- Open the PeerSubmit login page.
- Enter your registered email address and password.
- Click Login to access your dashboard.
Step 2: Select Your Conference
After logging in, open the conference where you want to close submissions.
- Navigate to All Conferences.
- Locate your conference.
- Click Manage Conference.
Step 3: Open Submission Setup
Submission deadlines are managed in the submission configuration settings.
- Navigate to the Submission Setup page.
- Open the Submission & Review tab.
Method 1: Close Submissions by Changing the End Date
The most common way to close submissions is by setting the submission end date to a past date.
- Locate the End Date & Time field.
- Change the date to a past date.
- Click Save Changes.
Once the submission end date has passed, authors will no longer be able to submit new papers.
Method 2: Close Submissions Using the Submission Limit
You can also stop submissions by setting the submission limit to a number lower than or equal to the number of papers already received.
- Locate the Submission Limit field.
- Set the limit to the number of submissions already received.
- Click Save Changes.
If the submission limit is reached, PeerSubmit will automatically stop accepting new submissions.
What Happens After Submissions Are Closed
- Authors can no longer submit new papers.
- Existing submissions remain available for review.
- Organizers can continue assigning reviewers and managing the peer review process.
Closing submissions ensures that the conference review process can proceed without receiving additional papers after the deadline.
